The Embassy of Palestine in Abuja has taken a swipe at pro-Israel Western leaders for their unfettered military and political support for Israel’s carnage in Gaza.
Statement by the Embassy, made available to SUMMIT POST, on Tuesday, October 24th, in Abuja, says:
“It is unfortunate that we have all witnessed the unprecedented pilgrimage of some pro-Israel Western leaders to provide their full military and political support for the current genocide and use extremely unbalanced language in commenting on the currently ongoing war against the Palestinians, giving the Israeli occupation the green light to commit more massacres, this for sure will raise the number of innocent people to be killed on the upcoming days, and increase the mass destruction of the Palestinian homes and infrastructure, alongside deepens and enhances Palestinian human suffering. Especially among children and women.”
The Embassy also berated Western media for their biased and undeserved support for Israel’s atrocities in Gaza through standing truth on its head.
“The moral duty of the media is to present and broadcast reality and the truth, but unfortunately this was not the case. The majority of the Western media participated and spread Israeli propaganda, especially the story of the rape of Israeli women and the beheading of children, which is absolutely untrue and the Israelis have not been able to prove it and will never be able to prove it.”
This is even as the statement puts the death toll in the ongoing war at 5791, while 1.4 million has already been displaced with 68 medics killed.
“The total number of the Martyr since October 7th reach 5791, including 2360 children, 1421 Women and 217 elderlies, while 16297 citizens sustaining various level of injuries.
“68 of the health crews was killed, while 100 injured. 12 hospitals and 32 health centers were out of service due to direct attacks or running out of fuel. 25 ambulances became out of services due to the Israeli attacks.
“The weapon used is melting the skin and the wounded, and it need special treatment that is not found on Gaza. The Israeli occupation weakened the ambulance system by destroying 25 ambulances and putting them out of service.
“Surgical operations were performed without anesthesia and using the light of telephones, and the wounded were treated in the corridors and on the floors.”
The statement bemoaned the slow inflow of aid trucks into Gaza, putting success rate at 3%. It also revealed that this year alone, 6,500 Gazans have been detained.
“The aid trucks that entered to Gaza constituting only 3% of the daily rate of import before October 7th.
“The number of detained people since the begging of this year is 6500, 1215 out of this since October 7th, 12 hospitals and 32 health centers were out of service due to targeting and running out of fuel. Hospitals lost their treatment and capacity, and medical teams treated the wounded with very limited capabilities.”
On the number of persons displaced, the statement put the figure at 1.4 million people who are taking refuge in United Nations Refugees Centre, schools, hospitals, mosques etc.
“The number of displaced people in the Gaza Strip is about one million and four hundred thousand citizens, with 685,000 displaced with other families, 565,000 displaced in 148 schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees, 101,000 in mosques, churches and public places, 70,000 in 67 schools.
“More than 181,000 housing units were damaged by the aggression, including more than 20,000 units completely destroyed.
“In west bank the Israeli occupation force executed 91 Palestinian since October 7th, many of them are children. 6500 Palestinian detained since the beginning of this year, out of them 1215 since October 7th. Mr. Omar Daraghmeh 58 years who had been detained on October 8th was Martyred as a result to the torture he had subjected in the Israeli jails.”
It called on the south states to reject the continuous violation and selective application of International laws and UN Charters.
“It’s a wakeup call for all the south states, if you accept trampling the international law, violating the UN charter, and turned your backs to the current massacres conduction against the innocent Palestinian people, this mean that your countries might be on the line very soon, we all should remember that whom is standing with Israeli occupation today is the classical imperialisms and colonialism that you all suffered from.
“The applicability of the international law should not be selective.
The hypocrisy and double standard will be entrenching the rift between the countries, and inside the countries itself.
“The military solutions did not work in the past and will not work ever.
The Palestinian people have the full right to self-determination and to be free, the basic and fundamental human rights that Israel and its western supporters is completely denying,” the statement concluded.
