The Nigerian Law School has expressed sadness over the death of one of its students who died after falling from the rooftop of a hostel in Lagos.
The deceased, a student of the school’s Enugu Campus, was in Lagos for an externship programme when the incident occurred.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Aderonke Osho, Secretary to the Council of Legal Education, the student fell from the hostel rooftop at about 4:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The school said the student sustained injuries in the fall and subsequently died.
“The Nigerian Law School is deeply saddened by the tragic development,” the statement said, adding that the management was working with the relevant authorities and the deceased’s family to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The institution also said it would follow all necessary procedures and provide additional information when appropriate.
The Nigerian Law School reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the safety and welfare of its students and staff, while expressing condolences to the family of the deceased.
