Brighton & Hove Albion Women FC has announced the signing of Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie from Paris FC.
Nnadozie, who is also the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year, will join the club on July 1, once her contract with Paris FC ends.
Women’s head coach Dario Vidosic expressed his excitement about Nnadozie’s arrival, saying: “She’s a talented, commanding goalkeeper who will add consistency and stability to our defence. She’s competed at the highest level, gaining experience in major tournaments, including the Champions League.
“We believe she’ll bring depth and drive to an already ambitious squad as we build for next season.”
Nnadozie, 24, has had an illustrious career, making 118 appearances for Paris FC and winning several awards, including the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season, D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper, and UNFP Goalkeeper of the Season.
She has also won the Nigeria Women’s Premier League and Nigeria Women’s Cup with Rivers Angels.
Internationally, Nnadozie has earned 55 caps for the Super Falcons and has represented Nigeria at various levels, including the Under-17 and Under-20 teams.
Her impressive track record and experience are expected to strengthen Brighton’s defensive line.
