Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, has congratulated the Governor-elect, Mohammed Umar Bago on his victory at the just concluded Governorship and State Assembly elections held in the state.
Governor Sani Bello in a statement described the victory of Bago as “a victory for a stronger Niger”.
The Governor applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a successful exercise, acknowledging that despite the few flaws recorded in the entire process, there were many positives in the 2023 general elections in its entirety.
He called on the Governor-elect to extend hands of fellowship to those that contested with him and ensure that he operates an open door policy as he has been elected to serve everyone.
“I want to urge you to quickly extend an olive branch to all your contenders because you have been elected to serve the entire people of Niger State regardless of their religion, tribe, social status or even political parties”
While expressing optimism that Bago would engender development in the state, he enjoined those who lost in the elections to accept the outcome in good fate, and support the in-coming administration.
Mohammed Umar Bago was declared winner in the just concluded Governorship election in Niger State by the State Collation Officer, Prof. Clement Alawa.
Bago of the APC, scored 469,896 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isah Liman Kantigi of the PDP who polled 387,476 votes.
Similarly, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello extended his congratulatory message to all the State Assembly Members elected, imploring them to provide good representations to their Constituencies.
