NSE Inaugurates 2026 Boards, Tasks Members on National Impact

The president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ali Rabiu, has inaugurated the 2026 oards and ommittees of the body, describing them as central to resetting the NSE for relevance and national impact.

Mr Rabiu, whose investiture as the 35th President of the Society held in January, made this known on Wednesday during the formal Zoom inauguration ceremony of the boards and committees.

He said his administration would focus on strengthening institutional foundations, repositioning the NSE for national discourse, and promoting engineering standards, innovation and policy influence.

According to him, the boards and committees represent the bedrock of proactive leadership, providing frameworks and actionable blueprints for achieving the society’s objectives.

Mr Rabiu explained that the composition of the boards and committees complied with the NSE Memorandum and Articles of Association, leveraging members’ experience to enhance performance.

He charged committee chairmen to organise members effectively, ensure active participation, maintain focus on set goals and sustain regular communication with the NSE Executive Committee.

The NSE president announced that chairmen would be required to present periodic productivity appraisals, warning that underperforming members could be replaced.

MrRabiu urged the committees to align their activities with the NSE Strategic Agenda Document, describing it as the guiding compass for the association’s vision for national development.

He encouraged the use of information technology and virtual platforms to reduce costs, adding that physical meetings would only be approved when strongly justified.

The NSE president also reminded members of their financial obligations, stressing that prompt payment of dues was essential to sustaining programmes and operations.

Mr Rabiu formally inaugurated the 2026 boards and committees and congratulated members, calling for commitment, discipline and effective service delivery.

“At this juncture, by the special grace of Almighty God and the common will of Nigerian engineers, I, Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, FASCE, FAEng, MFR, have the singular honour and privilege to formally inaugurate the boards and committees of the Nigerian Society of Engineers for the year 2026,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the committee chairmen, they commended the president and pledged to work diligently to deliver on their mandates and improve processes across the Society.
