Governor Prince Bassey Otu of Cross River State has named the current Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche as his new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
The appointment was conveyed in a statement signed by Dr Innocent Eteng, Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Office of the Secretary to the State Government late on Monday.
A renowned journalist and Unionist, Comrade Ogbeche, until this recent appointment was Editor-at-large with THE WHISTLER, an online newspaper published by the The Whistler Communications Limited.
He is also serving his second term as the FCT Council NUJ Chairman in Abuja.
Other appointments conveyed in the press statement are Prof Anthony Owan-Enoh as Secretary to the State Government (SSG); Hon Emmanuel Ironbark – Chief of Staff to the Governor; and Major-General Okoi Ubi Obono (rtd) – Senior Special Adviser-Security (State Security Adviser).
The list of appointees also include AIG John Abang (rtd) – Special Adviser-Security (Central); Mr Achu Ben Olayi – Special Adviser-Security (North); Commander Patrick Odiong – Special Adviser-Security (South); and Mr Sylvester Otu Abang – Acting State Chief of Protocol.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
For the benefit of hindsight, Emmanuel Ogbeche is a result-oriented leader, until his election as the chair of FCT-NUJ, the beautiful edifice that serves as secretariat was nowhere near completion and the environment was den of thieves. Few years, down-the-line, evidence, they say is the end of argument. Not only was the secretariat building project speedily completed, a befitting hall has also been built.
Courtesy of Ogbeche’s magic wand, FCT-NUJ has become a force to reckon with.
From the Highland Media Ltd, publishers of SUMMIT POST News, we wish Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche a successful tenure.
