The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Taraba State chapter, has endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for continuity ahead of the 2027 general elections, passing a vote of confidence on his administration.
The State President of the union, Comrade Bajison Wakili Damunga, made the declaration while speaking with journalists during the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration held at the union’s secretariat in Jalingo.
Damunga commended Governor Kefas for fulfilling his promise to local government workers, particularly in the prompt payment of salaries.
“Since his assumption of office, he has never failed in the payment of our salaries,” he said.
He urged members of the union to remain patient, assuring them that the governor had pledged to clear six months’ salary arrears, and advised them not to entertain any fears.
The NULGE president also highlighted what he described as the administration’s achievements, including the execution of rural road projects, water schemes, healthcare support, and improvements in school infrastructure across parts of the state.
According to him, the governor has continued to promote unity among diverse ethnic and religious groups in Taraba State.
Damunga appreciated members who travelled from the 16 local government areas to attend the Workers’ Day celebration in Jalingo, noting that their cooperation remains vital to the progress of the union.
“I cannot achieve anything without your cooperation, especially with the development of the new NULGE Conference Hall,” he added.
He further called on his co-contestants in the last NULGE election to work together with the current executive to move the union forward.
“Let us cooperate with the present executive council to make the union one of the best in the state,” he said.
Damunga also urged the people of Taraba State to continue supporting Governor Kefas and rally behind his administration for continuity in 2027.
