The National Youth Council of Nigeria,Taraba State Chapter,has embarked on awareness campaign for eligible voters to register with INEC.
The awareness campaign, which commenced from the Taraba State Civil Service Commission ended at the Ministry of Works roundabout Jalingo.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Taraba State Chapter, Comrade Hapson Haruna Babale said that the initiative reflects the Council’s commitment to promoting civic education, responsible citizenship, and greater youth participation in Nigeria’s democratic process. It also seeks to encourage every eligible young person to register, obtain a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), and make their voice count through peaceful civic engagement.

He emphasized that the PVC is a powerful tool for democratic participation and encouraged young people to take an active role in shaping the future of Taraba State and Nigeria through peaceful and lawful participation in elections.
Comr. Hapson Haruna Babale, commended Governor Agbu Kefas for restoring total security across the state.
“Security has been achieved 100% in Taraba State by Gov Agbu Kefas.
On his part, Chairman of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, Prince Gara Nongha, urge citizens to get their PVC’s
He called on all eligible youths and residents of Taraba State to register for and obtain their Permanent Voter Card (PVC).
According to him, every eligible citizen should ensure they are registered, collect their PVC, and be prepared to exercise their constitutional right to vote during the 2027 general elections.
“I urged all youths and the general public to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Prince Nongha further praised Governor Agbu Kefas for his youth friendly policies and commended the current administration’s commitment to the development of young people in the state.
He also urged youths to remain peaceful, responsible, and law-abiding throughout the electoral process, stressing that active civic participation is essential to strengthening democracy and promoting sustainable development.
“Get your PVC today. Your vote is your voice, and your participation helps shape the future.
Also speaking, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris, appreciated the leadership of NYCN under Comrade Hapson Haruna Babale for organizing the program, adding that such will reduce the burden on INEC.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner represented by the Public Affairs Officer, Martin Mathias, call on Civil Society, Faith and Community based organizations and all Associations that has to do with civic and Voter sensitization and education, to collaborate with INEC to enlighten and educate citizens on the electoral process.
“Like the present ongoing voters registration exercise the public need to be sensitize, after this next is the collection of the permanent voters card PVC’s, after this, we have the General Elections which starts with the Presidential and National Assembly on 16th January 2027, and that of Governorship and State Assembly on the 6th February 2027 – he added.

I therefore call on every eligible young person across Taraba State to embrace this noble initiative by participating in the march and ensuring they register for and collect their PVC. Let us move beyond complaints and become active stakeholders in nation-building through informed and responsible civic engagement.
