Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo has assured residents of Kupa Kingdom that those behind the recent killings in Abugi, Kuchinda and Mikugi communities in Lokoja Local Government Area will be arrested and prosecuted.
‎
‎The governor, through the state Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, condemned the violence as unacceptable and described the loss of lives as tragic and avoidable. Fanwo said preliminary findings revealed that the crisis began after a vigilante member allegedly killed an unarmed herder over suspected cattle rustling, leading to a reprisal attack by armed individuals that claimed several lives.
‎
‎Fanwo disclosed that Ododo had directed security agencies to apprehend all those linked to the incidents, including the vigilante officer accused of killing the herder and members of the group allegedly responsible for the reprisal. He stressed that anyone found guilty, regardless of background or affiliation, would face the full consequences of the law.
