The entire Ayedun Community is in carnival mode today, Thursday, February 2, 2023, as family, friends and well wishers gathered as early as 8:00am, in Awolusi compound to celebrate Engr. Muftau Awolusi who turns 50.
Our correspondent gathered that a birthday celebration that was initially billed to be low key was escalated by jubilant sons and daughters of the community who could not hide their joy and love for the celebrant whom they tagged as the man of the people whose influence in the community has won the heart of so many people across family divide and religion.
Engr Awolusi who is a technical staff of Dubri Oil Lagos, the first indigenous Oil Company in Nigeria was born in 1973 to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Awolusi in Ayedun Oke-ero Local Governmant of Kwara State. His father Alhaji Awolusi unarguably one of the richest farmer in old Ekanmeje and a philanthropist in the early 60s to 70s, a devoted moslem who was the first in Ekanmeje to embark on pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca.
Engr Awolusi in his 50 years sojourn in this world has not deviated from the Islamic ways as set for him by his father and this saw him singlehandedly erect a befitting Masjid (Mosque) in the community for muslim faithfuls.
Mr Christopher his colleague in Dubri oil who spoke to our correspondent could not hide his joy as he gave a positive testimony about the celebrant on how passionate the celebrant could be in solving problems within the organisation even when it has to do with personal problems of his colleagues and that he does without ethnic, and religious sentiment.
An indigen of the community who simply call her name Arinola was ecstatic as she describe the celebrant as a mobiliser, referring to the yearly carnival initiated by him for the entire community, a carnival that is successfully bringing together sons and daughters of the community in unity and love.
The elated celebrant who could not hide his joy and appreciation for the turnout of well wishers gave an assurance that based on peoples testimony about him he continue to even do more in social responsibility for the betterment of the people.
