On Murtala Yakubu Ajaka – A Call For Examination Of Conscience, By Prof AD Akpa
The situation being faced by the Igala nation in Kogi State at the moment is a very pitiable one to say the least. In order to upturn the rule of victimization of the majority by the minority, we earnestly need to reclaim the Luggard House in January 2024.
This objective is not a case of educational attainment or capacity as a quantum of our people have these attributes in abundance. The point is; we are in a democracy, no matter how crazy it is, the voice of the people is still very significant.
As a personal example, I am a Professor of 22 years standing, but in this particular election if an Administrative Clerk is more widely accepted than me, I will gladly queue behind him for the sake of the humiliation we are subjected to as a people.
The voice of the people across Kogi East and statewide is very unequivocal in the support of Murtala Yakubu. He may not have an MSc or PhD but he has the basic qualification to govern a state and has demonstrated enough capacity, political experience, patience and focus to this effect. In addition, he is intricately connected to the national political class to be able to attract development and dividends of democracy to Kogi State.
This election is not only about redeeming Kogi State from misgovernance and political banditry, but about redeeming the battered image of Kogi East! In respect of this I expect other governorship aspirants from Kogi East to rally round Murtala Yakubu. In doing so, they would have written their names in gold in the annals of democratic governance in Kogi East in particular and Kogi State generally.
As aspirants and supporters of aspirants let’s think of Kogi East first. What name, position and wealth do you seek for when your origin is a subject of ridicule?? Please let’s brainstorm in our closets and do the needful so that the joy of Kogi East and Kogi State will be full, come 11.11.2023 …
God bless us all!!!
AD Akpa.
