Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, has written an open letter to the people of the state, urging them to vote for him to rescue the state from the current administration.
In the letter, Ajaka accused the current administration of Governor Yahaya Bello of underperformance, tribalism, and nepotism. He said that the state has witnessed untold hardship, intimidation, persecution, poverty, and hunger under Bello’s watch.
Ajaka also alleged that Bello is running for a third term in order to maintain his grip on power and to amass public funds for himself. He said that Bello is one of the governors who stood against President Bola Tinubu during the APC primaries and also worked against his party in Kogi central in order to prevent Tinubu from winning the 2023 election.
