Osun 2026: Adeleke Urges Workers To Transform Support Into Electoral Victory ‎

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on workers across the state to translate their support for his administration into votes ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

‎

‎The governor made the appeal on Monday during an interactive town hall meeting with workers organised by the Joint Labour Movement in Osogbo.

‎Adeleke told the workers that expressing support was not enough, urging them to participate actively in the election process by voting and encouraging others to do the same.

‎

‎“Support alone is not enough. On Aug. 15, every eligible worker must convert that support into votes. Your PVC is your voice, and your vote for Imole is your power,” he said.

‎

‎He encouraged both formal and informal sector workers to come out early on election day, resist intimidation and help mobilise their families, friends and neighbours to vote.

‎

‎The governor further promised that if re-elected, his administration would build on the achievements recorded in the last three and a half years, particularly in improving the welfare of workers, women and young people.

‎

‎Adeleke said his government had prioritised workers’ welfare through the implementation of the current ₦75,000 minimum wage, regular payment of salaries and pensions, as well as clearing more than ₦80 billion in inherited salary and pension liabilities.

‎

‎He added that his administration would immediately approve the implementation of the newly proposed minimum wage once negotiations were concluded.

‎

‎Meanwhile, the Osun State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Christopher Arapasopo, pledged that workers would support Adeleke’s re-election bid, describing them as being firmly behind the governor.

‎

‎The state Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, also assured the governor that workers would reciprocate his efforts by voting massively for him during the election.
