Osun APC Leader Calls for Unity Ahead of Governorship Election

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has appealed to party stakeholders to foster peace and cohesion as preparations intensify for the August 15 governorship election.

In a statement released on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye stressed the importance of unity within the party, urging members to rally behind the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to ensure electoral success.

The former Osun State House of Assembly lawmaker warned that internal disagreements could weaken the party’s chances, noting that harmony and discipline were essential for victory at the polls.

He advised against divisive behaviour such as “unguarded comments, bitterness, and anti-party conduct,” adding that such actions could derail the party’s political ambitions.

According to him, going into the election with internal cracks would be a serious setback, insisting that collective effort remained the APC’s strongest advantage.

Oyintiloye also called on party elders and leaders to intervene in resolving lingering grievances among members, saying unresolved conflicts could negatively affect the campaign.

He expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s candidacy, describing him as capable and widely acceptable, while urging full mobilisation of support across all party structures.

He further expressed optimism that with the backing of key APC figures in the state and at the national level, the party would reclaim power in Osun.

His remarks come amid reports of internal tensions following recent party primaries, which have sparked dissatisfaction among some members.

Meanwhile, reactions continue to trail the outcome of the APC primaries, with some stakeholders reportedly rejecting the results ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
