Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has commended the management and staff of Obudu Ranch Resort for their commitment and sacrifices in repositioning the facility as a leading tourism destination of international standard.

The governor gave the commendation during the presentation of a Christmas package to the workers, an exercise carried out on his behalf by the Special Adviser on Obudu Ranch Resort, Mr. Sunday Michael.
He acknowledged the resilience and determination of the workforce in driving the administration’s tourism development agenda despite the poor condition in which the resort was inherited from the previous government.
Governor Otu said the Christmas package was intended to appreciate and motivate the workers for their dedication and sacrifices in ensuring steady progress at the resort.
As part of the gesture, the governor donated four cows and fifteen bags of rice to the workforce to enable them celebrate the festive season in good spirits with their families.
Presenting the items, Mr. Michael said the governor was pleased with the level of commitment shown by the staff and management and considered it important to identify with them during the Christmas period.
The Group General Manager of Obudu Ranch Resort, Mr. Ekeng Ewa Ekeng, expressed gratitude to the governor for the thoughtful gesture, describing it as timely and encouraging. He also praised the Special Adviser for his leadership and concern for staff welfare.
Ekeng noted that the governor’s action reflects a leadership style that recognises hard work and prioritises the wellbeing of workers.
Some staff members said the gesture has boosted their morale and renewed their commitment to improved service delivery as efforts continue to restore Obudu Ranch Resort to its place as a major tourism hub in Cross River State.
