Speaking to our correspondent in Jalingo during the screening process, a participant, Mr Aliyu Amos said Governor Kefas has taken the bull by the horn especially as the state was lacking a significant number of health workers in the past five years.

According to him the health sector since assumption of governor Kefas into office has continued improving in its services, pointing out that the appointment of technocrats in the sector has remained the secret of achievements currently witnessed.

On her part, Mrs Ruth Dogara said Governor Kefas has done something his predecessors never considered to be addressed during many years of their administrations.

“For the Governor to approve the engagement of 550 health personnel to strengthen health services delivery in the state alone deserves total commendation.

“Governor Kefas vision to appoint the present team to his cabinet to oversee the health sector was the beginning of the success story, describing the team at the helm of affairs in the state as best optional at the moment.

Hauwa Ibrahim, Maryam Sunkani, Bashir Hassan and host others equally viewed the current exercise approved by the Governor as saving grace, most especially to applicants like them.

“Most of us have completed our higher institution for more than five to earth years with certificates at hand but no job”.

“In fact governor Kefas will be remembered for resuscitating the lost hope and our collective prayer is for God to continue to guide him and enable his administration to succeed”.

Commenting on the exercise, the Executive Secretary of the board Dr Garba Danjuma disclosed that the state government had approved the recruitment of 400 health workers for health facilities across the state.

“Governor Agbu Kefas deserves commendation for the veriours reforms introduced in the health sectors, including the renovation of health care facilities and provision of modern medical equipment and called on residents of the state to continue supporting the administration to enable it achieve its developmental goals.

He further explains that the exercise was primarily aimed at addressing the shortage of healthcare personnel particularly nurses and midwives, adding that the state government approved the employment of 550 health workers to bridge existing manpower gaps in health facilities across the state.

“The governor’s decision to engage the commissioner of health Dr Bodiya Buma in health sector and chairman of the board Dr Ebenezer Apake has thoroughly revived the institution back on track and applauded the screening team committee for living upto expectation in the current exercise – he said.
