‎Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has urged the Amassoma community and youths of the State to be calm over the death of Patrick Peresuode, stating that government is on the matter.
‎
‎Speaking at the 181st State Executive Council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa, Governor Diri stated: “Let me use this opportunity to call on the people of Amassoma community, who lost their son, Patrick Peresuode, and the youth of Bayelsa, to remain calm, because government is already on the matter. Be rest assured that government will not leave any stone unturned, and will do everything required by law under it’s authority and duties to make sure that those who are culpable will be brought to book.
‎
‎All the government needs now, is the support of Amassoma community and key witnesses to the incidence, and I’m very sure that, the Attorney General, having received my briefings, will expedite this matter, so that, at the end of the day, all parties will be satisfied that justice is done.”
‎
‎The governor while thanking all arms of government and the people of the state for the synergy and support during the burial of the late deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo in Ofoni last week, also commiserated with the families of two sons of the state who lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident, on their way to the burial.
