Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroonian President Paul Biya, has again stoked the flames after suggesting in a social media post that the long-serving leader is “dying,” while also alleging that she is being targeted and could face serious consequences.
In the post, which largely focuses on her views about addiction and societal responses to it, Brenda Biya abruptly shifts to a personal and political tone, stating: “PB is dying period.” She goes on to claim that she has been deliberately targeted because of her identity as the president’s daughter, suggesting that unnamed actors are waiting to strip her of influence and public support.
She further alleges that there have been efforts to “make me eat shit and take my platform and the amount of love people had for me,” adding that she fears being made to “die miserably or pay for the consequences with my health or my freedom tomorrow.”
The remarks appear to frame her situation as one of sustained pressure and betrayal, with Brenda claiming she has been insulted and exposed after trusting individuals with personal information. She concludes by warning against what she describes as continued “evil schemes” following what she calls “a year of torture.”
There has been no official response from the presidency or government authorities regarding her claims about the health of President Biya or the allegations of targeting.
The comments are likely to fuel speculation about succession politics and internal tensions within Cameroon’s ruling elite, particularly given longstanding concerns about President Biya’s health and prolonged time in power.
