GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION (18/03/ 2023) PREDICTION, By Cliff Stanley

The Governorship Election today is going to decide the faith of candidates by the electorates in 28 States out of the 36 of the federation, while we have Eight State that are “Off Season Election” in our electioneering process.

Looking at the Eleven (11) States governors who are seekng for re – Election for the second term in office in today Election. As a political scientist/ Analyst looking at the past Election, i will love to predict the outcome of the election taking place today as a result of the political permutations, voting pattern, voting behavior and die minutes alliance before today parties that will win according to Geo- political Region..

NORTH- EAST REGION

1. Adamawa State – PDP
2. Bauchi State – PDP
3. Borno State – APC
4. Gombe State – PDP
5. Yobe – APC

The North- East is the Region that have the highest numbers of governors that seeking re-election for second term bid.

NORTH- WEST REGION.

1. Lagos State – APC
2. Ogun State – APC
3. Oyo States – APC

The North- West had the second highest number of the states that are seeking Second term re-election.

NORTH- CENTRAL REGION.

1. Kwara State – APC
2. Nassarawa State- PDP

NORTH- WEST REGION

1. Zamfara State – APC

While this zone had the highest numbers of registered voter and also the highest in the collection of Permanent Voters Card most of the governors are about to round up of their completed their Tenure in their States.

We are about to see New Governors – Elect in Seventeen(17) States of the federation. The Electorates will want to make sure that the vote people that will address the challenges facing the states as a result of the extension of the voting by one week, sensitization by Civil Society Organization and the recently signed 16 bills Constitutional amendment (1999) will help make wise choices.

NORTH- WEST REGION

1. Kaduna State – PDP
2. Kano State- NNPP
3. Jigawa State – PDP
4. Katsina State – APC
5 Sokoto State- PDP

SOUTH- SOUTH REGION.

1. Akwa- Ibom- PDP
2. Delta State- PDP
3. Cross- River- PDP
4. Rivers- PDP

NORTH- CENTRAL REGION

1. Niger State – APC
2. Benue State – APC
3. Plateau State – PDP

Governorship Election will not be holding in Eight (8) states but they will be Elections in their Houses Of Assembly which is also importance for democracy, some of the governors will be shivering if their assembly have majority of opposition members in the house it’s going to be difficult for the Governor’s in state, if there is any disagreement it will lead to impeachment just the way we saw in Second Republic in Kaduna 1979.

1 Anambara State
2. Bayelsa State
3. Edo State
4. Ekiti State
5. Imo State
6. Kogi State
7. Osun State
8. Ondo State

My fear is that we may witness voter apathy in the election as a result of threat and killing in some of volatile states by unscrupulous elements and personalities in the politics.

Finally I hope the election will be peaceful and the End of the day, those who win and those who lost should accept it in good faith just like Sportmen. We will always have One Winner.

Cliff Stanley
Political Analyst.
