In its efforts to reconcile aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Taraba State, the state chapter of PDP has inaugurated a committee to reconcile members who left the party.
Inaugurating the committee at the Party Secretariat in Jalingo, the State Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, said the current leadership of the Party in the state places great premium on harmony and peaceful coexistence amongst the leadership and membership of the Party at all our Local Chapters.

“This is the spirit behind the constitution of this committee that we have gathered to inaugurate today,” he said.
According to him, the Party has been the ruling Party in the state since 1999, hence the need for the processes of reconciliation, discipline and assessment at reasonable interval.
“Members of the committee were chosen after extensive consultations and purely on the basis on their individual track records.
“I therefore charge you all to bring your diverse experiences to bear as you acquaint yourself with the terms of reference of the committee.
“The Committee is free to devise ways of reaching out to identify areas of conflicts/issues and apply appropriate intervention within one month from your inaugural date.
“It is therefore my honour to formally
inaugurate the State Reconciliation
Committee of the People’s Democratic Party
(PDP)Taraba State Chapter,” he said.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after inauguration, Chairman of the committee, Senator Zik Ambuno Sunday said the committee will work tirelessly in reconciling all aggrieved members back to the party.
“The party has been in control of the state since 1999 and will continue to continue to be in power.
“Members of the committee are impeccable character that will bring to beqar lasting solutions that will propel the party to be stronger and united,” said Sunday.
Senator Zik Ambuno Sunday who is a former Senator representing Taraba Northern Senatorial Zone, assured that all grey areas that led to individual grievances in the past will amicably be resolved and pave way for peace which the party was known for.
The Committee Chairman further assured that the committee will be fair and just in carrying out its assignment and sued for cooperation of all PDP families to enable them to succeed in the task ahead of them.
Recall that on 24th September, 2024, the Party in a Press statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Andeta’rang Irammae, the State Working Committee approved the constitution of a Sixteen man reconciliation committee to address intra–party grievances.
Members of the State Reconciliation Committee includes, Sen. Zik Ambuno Sunday – Chairman, Alh. Abdulrazaq Musa – Member, Hon. Magaji Joseph Tahwa – Member, Hon. Abbas Kaura – Member and Rt. Hon. Simon Dogari – Member.
Others are, Hon. Tina Musa – Member, Hon. Aminu Jika – Member, Hon. Oliver Suleiman – Member, Hon. Kabiru Jalo – Member, Chief John Mamman – Member, Hon. Jonah J. Kataps – Member, Haj. Azumi Adamu – Member, Alh. Mohammed Abana – Member, Mr. Julius Taro Bitako – Member, Hon. Mohammed Idi (Mai-Iyali) – Member, while Hon. Lawal Abdulkarim is the Secretary of the Committee.
