The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Taraba State Chapter, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, for a second term in the 2027 elections.
The State Chairman of PFN, Rev. Dr Timothy King, made the endorsement during a combined service held at the Redeemed People’s Mission, Magami, Jalingo.
“We truly appreciate what he is doing for the state. His laudable achievements in the areas of peace, infrastructural development, health, rural and urban development are commendable.
“We have seen a lot of progress in the field of education, and that is why we made him a Special Guest of Honour at our combined service.”
He used the forum to launch the campaign for the re-election of Governor Agbu Kefas.
“The purpose of this is to tell the world that we are endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, for a second term.
“My picture, that of the President and the Taraba State Governor on the banner, clearly shows that we are endorsing them for 4+4. This also signifies that we have flagged off our campaign for them.”
He disclosed that the PFN had already structured its mobilisation efforts, adding that by September, the fellowship would begin building synergy between pastors and churches towards the endorsement of Governor Agbu Kefas across every nook and cranny of the state.
“Our tables are set. That was another reason for inviting the Governor to witness the flag-off of Politics and Governance and the endorsement of him as our credible candidate for the 2027 elections.”
He called on members to remain calm, assuring them that more developmental projects would be witnessed in the state.
“The laudable achievements we have seen, more will come in the near future. Better things will come, and new things are about to unfold in the state through the able leadership of the state Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, who is our sole candidate for 2027.”
Rev. King appreciated the Governor for attending the combined service despite his demanding schedule.
He said the impact of government projects was becoming visible across different parts of Taraba State.
According to him, government efforts in the security sector had contributed to making Jalingo and its environs more peaceful, creating an environment where residents could go about their activities with greater confidence.
He called for a stronger partnership between the government and the Church, noting that both institutions could achieve more by working together in areas affecting the welfare and development of the people.
In his message, the guest speaker, Pastor Timothy Oyedele, took his message from Romans 8:29 and titled it, “Leaders With Kingdom Principles.”
Pastor Oyedele emphasised truth and the knowledge of God as essential foundations for effective leadership, urging believers occupying positions of authority to remain faithful to their responsibilities.
He said leaders must preserve the dignity of their offices and understand that every assignment comes with expectations.
According to him, kingdom leadership is measured not simply by occupying an office but by the ability to magnify the assignment, deliver results and remain accountable to the purpose for which the responsibility was given.
Speaking at the event, Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, urged the Church to embrace what he described as unity of purpose, stressing that the progress of Taraba requires people, particularly those entrusted with leadership responsibilities, to understand the demands of their offices and discharge them faithfully.
He maintained that leadership comes with responsibility, urging those in positions of authority to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and the Church.
“We must be united. Unity is the strength we need to build a peaceful and prosperous Taraba.”
Governor Kefas also called on the people to live by truth and love, saying these virtues would not only strengthen the Christian faith but also enable the Church to make a greater impact on society.
“My charge to Christian leaders is to lead with love, unity, truth and righteousness. To the Church, let’s embrace unity of purpose. At every level, we must be committed and contribute to the growth of the Church and the development of Taraba State.”
Governor Kefas charged Christian leaders to lead with love, unity, truth and righteousness, noting that the Church has a vital role to play in shaping society and promoting peace, morality and responsible leadership.
The Governor urged the Church to embrace unity of purpose, emphasising that Christians must look beyond individual interests and work together towards strengthening the Church and contributing to the development of Taraba State.
He encouraged Christian leaders and members to remain committed to their responsibilities, using their positions and influence to promote peace, compassion, honesty and service to humanity.
He stressed that the development of Taraba is a collective responsibility, requiring the participation and commitment of religious leaders, traditional institutions, youths, women and citizens across the state.
He appreciated the PFN and the Christian community for their continued prayers and support for peace and progress in Taraba, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a united, peaceful and prosperous state.
Governor Agbu Kefas reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and called on the Christian community to continue supporting efforts aimed at moving Taraba forward.
The combined service provided an opportunity for Christian leaders and faithful to worship together, strengthen their bonds and reflect on their collective responsibility towards the spiritual and socio-economic development of Taraba State.
