As the call for well meaning individuals to support governmemt’s development initiatives, by giving back to their Community/Society, amplifies, a philanthropist, Elder Silas Ahiaba has built and donated an Ultra Modern Health Center to his home community, Oje, Oganenigu Ward, Dekina local government of Kogi State.
Information obtained from KYE website by SUMMIT Post, says the commissioning took place on Wednesday, 28 December, 2022.
Speaking while commissioning the project, the Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Usman Zakari expressed gratitude to Elder Ahiaba for the’uncommon’ philantropic gesture, saying the health facility was built to standard and will be of immense benefit to the Community.
He challenged well meaning and patriotic citizens to give back to their communities and support governmemt as it strives to entrench development.
“This is commendable. Elder Ahiaba has demonstrated uncommon goodwill. Other blessed citizens should emulates his shinning example,” the Commissioner said.
Speaking on the driving force behind the gesture, the Philanthropist, Elder Silas Ahiaba said the project was his own little way of giving back to the Society/Community.
He said: “my motivation is God’s mercy, love and kindness to me. Out of the abundance of God, I decided to give back to my community by assisting to provide basic amenities like this health center. Some years back, we did a borehole and provided potable water for the community. This is our little way of giving back to community/society.”
The event witnessed massive celebration by the over joyous residents, who are overwhelmed by the uncommon show of love for humanity by Elder Silas Ahiaba.
It would be recalled that Elder Ahiaba had sometimes ago, provided the community with a graded borehole to cushion the challenge of water scarcity in the area.
