Gridlock disrupted the movement of hundreds of commuters passing through the Mararaba bridge to other communities on Monday morning.
The popular Mararaba bridge was brought down by heavy bulldozers on Monday to create space for a planned overhead bridge.

The spot where the bridge used to be was blocked on both sides, leaving commuters heading towards the Keffi axis stranded.
Those leaving Mararaba for Abuja had to trek about 100 meters from the demolished bridge to catch taxis heading into the FCT.
The flyover project is intended to ease traffic in and out of the Mararaba axis, known for severe gridlock.
The project was inaugurated last December, and construction companies have moved to the site to commence work.
