The police command in Lagos says the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants in the 2025/2026 recruitment into the force will commence on Monday.

The command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said this in a statement on Thursday.

Ms Adebisi said the screening would run daily from 7:00 a.m. between March 9 and April 18 at the Police College, Ikeja.

According to her, the exercise is specifically for applicants who are indigenes of Lagos and who successfully completed the online registration for recruitment as general duty and specialist police constables.

She said that all candidates appearing for the screening must be dressed in clean white T-shirts and shorts and must also present several mandatory documents, neatly arranged in two white flat files.

“Among the required documents is the invitation slip indicating the assigned table, the credential screening form, and the original National Identity Number printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission.

“Others are O-level certificates, birth certificates or declarations of age, and local government or state of origin certificates. Specialist applicants are additionally required to present their trade test certificates.

“Candidates must also submit a duly completed and signed guarantors’ form with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees,” she said.

The spokesperson also said that both original and duplicate copies of credentials must be packaged separately in the two flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

According to her, any applicant who fails to present the required documents will not be considered for the screening exercise.

She urged applicants to strictly adhere to their scheduled dates and other guidelines provided for the exercise.

She emphasised that the screening process would be free of charge and conducted strictly on merit, in line with professional standards.

Ms Adebisi warned members of the public to report any individual or group demanding payment in connection with the recruitment process.
