The Benue State Police Command has detained 10 individuals in connection with the murder of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, Ardo Risku Mohammed, alongside another victim, Yakubu Isa.

‎According to the Command, the arrests were made following coordinated tactical operations and intelligence-led investigations carried out by operatives in Otukpo on the night of June 27, 2026.

‎In a statement released on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, the Command described the development as a major breakthrough in the probe into the violent killings.

‎The suspects identified include Titus Thyodenda (25), Utibe Sam (20), Owoicho Ameh (18), Sunday Useni (21), Sunday Ogbanje (46), Daniel Raphael (23), Adokole John (24), Samuel Ogazi (32), Agbo Daniel (25), and Onazi James (30).

‎The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiogbu, praised the operatives involved in the operation for their professionalism and swift response, noting that the arrests represent significant progress in the pursuit of justice.

‎He further assured residents that investigations are still ongoing, with efforts intensified to track down other individuals connected to the crime. He also reaffirmed the Command’s determination to ensure that all those found culpable are prosecuted in accordance with the law.

‎CP Nwadiogbu urged members of the public to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and provide useful information that could assist the investigation process.
‎
‎He reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property while maintaining peace across the state.

‎The Police Command had earlier condemned the killing of Ardo Risku Mohammed, the Benue State Chairman of MACBAN, and Yakubu Isa, describing the incident as tragic and promising that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
