According to Mr Ojelabi, the police received credible intelligence on December 3 that some people were in possession of human parts at Ile Ogbo close to Iwo.

“A team of policemen swiftly moved to the scene and the three suspects were arrested inside a dilapidated building with the following exhibits:

“Two plastics containing human skin, white gown used to bury corpse, two dried bones suspected to be human bones, 21 pieces of teeth suspected to be human teeth, four horns wrapped with red cloth, three small nylon containing suspected human hair,

“One small knife, substance suspected to be Indian Hemp, and cash sum N127,000,” he said.

He said the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted to have exhumed the human parts from a corpse at a Muslim cemetery located at Gaa-fulani Area, Ile-Ogbo with the intent of using the parts for money making rituals.

Mr Ojelabi said further investigation revealed that the syndicate specialised in exhuming corpses from the cemetery for criminal purposes.

He said in the same vein, the police area command in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area, equally arrested a suspect in possession of one unlicensed single barrel gun with three live cartridges, on December 16.

He said the suspect, who is from Olorunsogo community, Panada Area, Ikire, could not give satisfactory account of the gun and that when the police went to search his house, another single barrel gun was recovered.

He said all the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigations.

He said the Osun Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, had directed all divisional police officers to constantly conduct intelligence-led raiding of the black spots within their areas.
