Minister of State for Steel Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu, has appealed to Nigerians to shun the planned protest scheduled for August 1st, 2024, saying it will only lead to more hardship.
” Nigerians have the constitutional right to protest, but they should exercise caution, as some people are set to use the opportunity to cause chaos and instability in the country,” Ahmadu said.
He emphasized that the government is aware of the hardship Nigerians are facing and is working to make things easier for the people, both in the long and short term.
“I appeal to the people of Taraba to be patient. I am not happy with the situation as a person, but there are actions on the ground and in the pipeline. Don’t allow yourselves to be used by anarchists and proponents of chaos,” Ahmadu said.
Similarly, the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council and ALGON Chairman, Taraba State, Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan, has appealed to youths, women groups, clubs, and associations in Taraba State to shun the proposed nationwide protest.
“Given these substantial efforts, I want to believe that Governor Agbu Kefas is deeply committed to the development and welfare of Taraba State,” Hassan said, highlighting the governor’s achievements in office.
He urged the groups to acknowledge and support the positive strides by refraining from participating in the scheduled protest and engaging in constructive dialogue.
