The managing director and chief executive officer (MD/CEO) of the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, has sued for productive collaboration amongst key actors in the off-grid, renewable energy space to fast-track socioeconomic development in rural and remote communities.
The REA boss made this known Monday when he joined other energy industry stakeholders, professionals and change makers at the at at conference organised by Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations Alliance, REEEA-A, in Abuja on the impact of the 2023 Electricity Act.
He said, “As we continue to accelerate energy access nationwide, we must encourage more productive collaboration amongst key actors in the off-grid, renewable energy space to fast-track socioeconomic development in last-mile communities.”
Engr Ahmad equally joined other panelists to unpack the thematic conversation on the impact of the 2023 Electricity Act, according to a post shared on the twitter handle of REEEA-A.
While sharing his insights on the timeliness of the Act, its advantages and the role of State governments in the business of electrification as stated in the Act, he explained the existing, close-knit engagements between the REA and the state governments, targeted at deepening the impact of sustainable energy access across Nigeria.
In recognition of his impactful contribution in the energy sector and his achievements at the REA, Engr Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad was conferred with an Award of Recognition in the renewable energy sector by the @ReeeaAlliance.
Responding, the Ahmad appreciated the recognition by REEEA Alliance adding, “and we all appreciate the commendation at REA”.
The Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency (REA) is the Implementing Agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria tasked with electrification of rural, unserved, and underserved communities.
