Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth €55 million ($63.8 million), with the defender committing to a six-year contract.

‎

‎In a statement released on Monday, the Spanish giants announced that an agreement had been reached with Chelsea for the transfer of the 27-year-old, who will remain at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2032.

‎

‎Cucurella joined Chelsea in 2022 after impressing at Brighton and previously developed through Barcelona’s youth academy before establishing himself at Getafe.

‎

‎The defender is currently representing Spain at the World Cup and becomes the only Real Madrid player included in coach Luis de la Fuente’s national team squad.

‎

‎His arrival marks another significant move in Real Madrid’s squad rebuilding plans following the re-election of club president Florentino Pérez earlier this month and the appointment of José Mourinho as head coach after two trophyless seasons.

‎

‎The Spanish club is also expected to strengthen further, with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté reportedly set to join when his contract expires, while Bernardo Silva and Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries have also been linked with moves to Madrid.

‎

‎Chelsea endured a disappointing Premier League campaign, finishing 10th last season. During the campaign, Cucurella publicly questioned the club’s decision to dismiss manager Enzo Maresca in January.

‎

‎The Spanish international leaves Stamford Bridge with two years remaining on his contract, having helped Chelsea win the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League in 2025.
