A young Vietnamese footballer has got himself into trouble after copying Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siuu’ celebration.
The player ended up in a hospital after he injured himself while trying to copy the famous goal celebration.
Ronaldo is one, if not the most influential footballer in the history of the sport and is idolised by millions, including many professional footballers.
The 38-year-old’s famous “Siuu” celebration, which requires him to do a couple of leaping, jumping high and performing a mid-air pirouette before landing outlandishly with both arms spread wide and letting out his battle cry, has been imitated by many footballers.
However, it was an unfortunate day for a U-17 Vietnamese player, the physically-demanding celebration turned his joy into agony after he scored in a U-17 Vietnamese Cup final.
The player ran to the touchline to perform the goal celebration and according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, he landed awkwardly and it resulted in torn ligaments in his left knee.
The forward who dropped to the ground shortly after completing the celebration was moved off the field with a stretcher.
He was attended to by medical staff immediately before he was rushed off to the hospital where the extent of his injury was determined.
