Abuja, Nigeria – March 11, 2024 – Senator Jibrin Isa Echocho, representing Kogi East Senatorial District, has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of architect and community leader, Gabriel Yakubu Aduku.
“Architect Aduku’s contributions to our nation are unquantifiable,” Senator Echocho said in a statement. Aduku served as the former President and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) and Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
Senator Echocho described Aduku as “a pillar of Igalaland, Kogi State, and Nigeria as a whole.”
“His leadership in the architectural community, his dedication to the Arewa Consultative Forum, and his service as a community leader stand as a testament to his remarkable life,” Senator Echocho continued.
Aduku was also known for his commitment to fostering hope, peace, and progress. Senator Echocho highlighted this, stating, “We have lost a great man, but his legacy will continue to inspire us.”
Senator Echocho concluded his statement by pledging to carry on Aduku’s work. “I pledge to keep up his good work of serving the people of Kogi East and Nigeria with the same dedication and selflessness that he embodied.”
