The clerk of the National assembly has announced senator Godswill Akpabio as the winner of the election.
He emerged President of the 10th Senate after polling 63 votes to defeat its closest rival, Abdulaziz Yari who polled 46 votes and has been administered oath of office as the 10th President of the Senate.
Senator Akpabio was reported to be the anointed Candidate of the ruling party for the position.
