Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the National Assembly, has claimed that some lawmakers are dissatisfied with the leadership style of Senate President Godswill Akpabio but are managing the situation internally.
Oshiomhole, a former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress and ex-Governor of Edo State, made the remarks during an appearance on the *Mic On Podcast*.
He alleged that Akpabio appeared suspicious of his influence within the Senate, adding that he could not understand the reason for what he described as bias against him despite both belonging to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former APC national figure recalled his role as a founding member of the party and his contribution to the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu, noting that he served as Deputy Director-General of the presidential campaign council.
According to him, there is growing unease among senators over how the Senate is being run, although efforts are being made to maintain order and stability within the chamber.
Oshiomhole expressed confidence that the next Senate would operate differently, insisting that changes were inevitable in the 11th National Assembly.
He stated that if the Senate President had his way, he would prefer to see him removed from the chamber, although he maintained that he remains unfazed by such dynamics.
He reiterated that while concerns exist among lawmakers, they are being managed to avoid open conflict within the upper legislative chamber.
