The election to fill in the vacant position of Member representing Jalingo/Yorro/ Zing Federal Constituency experience low turn out of voters in Jalingo.
Our reporter who monitored the election within Jalingo metropolis said that election materials and electoral officers were available at the pooling units as early as six am.
At the Amazon Polling unit 019 Turaki ward witnessed only few voters been accredited and votes were casted the same time.
At the Sabongari polling unit 014 Turaki Ward, only fee voters were seeing undergoing voters accreditation.
The Presiding officer at the Amazon Polling unit Mr. James Igun, said that few prospective voters had turned out for the accreditation.
Our correspondent further reports that residents strict compliace with vehicular movement order as ordered by the police.
Our correspondent gathered that all roads within Jalingo town had been blocked by security operatives.
Security personell were seeing returning motorists back to their direction they were coming from, for most major roads within Jalingo metropolis were deserted by motorists due to the restriction of movement order.
The conduct of the bye-election followed the death of Ismaila Maihanchi who won the February 25 2023 election.
The major contenders in the election are Sadiq Abbas Tafida of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aminu Liman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, and Aminu Malle of the All Progressives Congress and results are been awaited.
