Voters have been urged not to sell their votes for any reason.
The Taraba State Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP, Professor Sani Yahaya stated this while briefing Journalists in Jalingo, shortly after flagging off his Governorship Campaign in Mutum Biyu, headquarters of Gassol Local Government.
“I urge you not to sell your votes for money, because money would finish within a short time, but the suffering would be for a long time. You will regret later.
“It is only by doing so that we will defend what we voted for.
“I urge everybody to go to INEC Office and collect their Permanent Voter Card, PVC, for this is the only way we can change the narrative.
He called on Youths to avoid thuggery, adding that electoral Act have spelt out clearly, the punishment for every electoral offences.
“I and my Party, NNPP are hopeful that we will keep our votes intact.
He appreciated God for his victory at the Court.
“One of my co – contestant and the People’s Democratic Party PDP, took me to Court, but thanks to God for his Mercy, all those cases where dismissed.
“Only Tarabans have the final say about the scorecard of each of the Governorship; what he or she have done for the development of the state and what we can offer if elected. For me, my blue print would speak, for it contains all that I have done and will do.
He explained that he will tackle issue of epileptic payment of salaries, adding that people suffer much and as a result of that, insecurity increases. “A hungry man is an angry man. We will change the narrative come 2023.”
According to him, his life time have been with the Youths and that his administration will be for the Youths.
“80 out of 100 percent of my life has been with the Youths, so I know what it takes to go with them. My administration is for the Youths. We are together with Youths and Women.
He use the forum to call on politicians to have it in mind that it is God that gives Power.
“If you get, thank him and if you didn’t get, exercise patient for God will give you at his own time.
During the flagg off, candidates under the Party spoke on their Governorship Candidate, reasons why they are vying into various political positions.
“When you were the Vice Chancellor, Taraba State University, we do pay school fees once, but when you left, the present administration said that the University is not for me poor – Safulahi Mairake, Candidate for Gassol State Constituency.
“Give us your vote and we will change Taraba State for the better – Aminu Babale.
“Nobody should deceive us along religious or tribal lines. We should vote credibility and that person is Professor Sani Yahaya – Pastor Stephine.
“I am pleading with you to vote a good candidate for the development of the state – Daniel Ishaya Gani, Candidate for Wukari 2
“A vote for Professor is a vote for free health care, Water, Roads and all developmental projects.
I urge you to go and collect your permanent voters cards PVC’s to enable you vote Prof. Sani Yahaya.
“Youths and Women suffer most during and after elections. People of Southern Zone, we can no longer go to farm freely, crisis have engulf our place. All displaced people would go back to their homes only if Sani Yahaya is voted as Governor – Murtala Gamji, Candidate for Taraba Senate (Southern Zone).
“Politics without Justice, one have to leave it. The Electoral Act have spell out clearly, no more rigging. We in Taraba State are not slaves. We must change the Government.
