Members of TEKAN/ECWA Block have been called upon to work more on what will unite them and carry each other’s burden, encourage, Love and tolerate one another.
The Chairman of TEKAN ECWA Block, Rev. Dr. Phillip Micah Dopah, stated this during the First Quarter of TEKAN/ECWA Block combine service held at the CAN Secretariat, Jalingo, Taraba State.
“As obedient children of God Almighty, we are under divine obligation not to serve or worship another god except our one and only creator, therefore we are gathered together in the presence of God Almighty to share love.
“Strengthen our bond of unity in faith, honour and worship our creator to fellowship together, praise and appreciate God for being merciful to us, listen to God speak to us in a special way and pray for the peace of our land and leaders.
He prayed for God to forgive Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for his shortcomings as he prepare to handover power to an incoming administration.
“May God forgive your shortcomings and reward you bountifully for serving God and people of Taraba state, as a church we wish you well and we will continue to pray and stand by your family.
“I pray for peaceful and successful transition at both state and National level.
He congratulate the governor-elect, Lt. Col. Kefas Agbu on his victory on the governorship elections and pray for God’s wisdom for him to succeed. He also congratulate House of Assembly members who won their seats whom are also members of the TEKAN/ ECWA Block and sister denominations.
He appreciated the leadership of CANÂ Taraba state for taking a wise decision on how and where to cast their votes during the last elections.
He also appreciate the support and cooperation of various denominational church leaders for carrying out the instructions from CAN through the leadership of the block.
“If not by that wise and godly decision, we would have been singing a song of lamentations by now.
The TEKAN ECWA Block Chairman, who is also the Guest Speaker at the occasion title his message: “Remember your first Love” took his reading Rev. 2:1-7, urged Christians to remember their first Love and stand firm during persecutions any time and where they find themselves.
“God want more than our outward appearance, what he wants is our hearts.
“Our homes are burnt down most at times because we lack understanding. Saying ill words is very dangerous to our faith and believe. We have failed in Love.
“When you hate one another, you will send them away from God’s presence.
He call on Pastors to remember where they have mistakes and remember first Love.
“All Men of God must be respected equal irrespective of their denominational and tribal differences.
“We have failed, we should all go back to our First Love.
He call on Tarabans irrespective of religion and tribal affiliation to pray for the incoming administration to take the state to higher level.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Rev. Dr. Isaiah Magaji Jirapiye appreciated TEKAN/ECWA Block for organizing and mobilizing members to the service.
He further appreciated members for the victory on the just concluded governorship election, adding that the victory is not for the governor-elect Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas alone, but a victory for all.
“We gave directives during elections and you obeyed. This is the time that we know that we have obedient Christians in Taraba state,” he concluded.
