President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new management team for the FGN Power Company Limited.
A statement by the President’s media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, noted that the move was part of efforts to reform the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerians.
The appointees are: Kenny Osebi Anuwe (reappointed), Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Prof Mamman Lawal (reappointed), Company Secretary/Legal Advisor; Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda, Chief Technical Officer (CTO); Babatunde Daramola Oniru, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO); and Julius Oyekola Olabiyi, Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
“The President anticipates that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited will work assiduously to realize the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in close collaboration with Siemens Energy through a holistic overhaul, modernization, and expansion of the national grid and other critical measures to ensure the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI),” the statement read in part.
In a related development, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of four Nigerian professionals to serve as Executive Directors of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), for a renewable term of four years.
In a separate statement issued, the media aide, Ngelale, said the move aim to substantially enhance the quality of electric power wheeled across the nation’s grid.
They are: Engineer Oluwagbenga E.A. Ajiboye, Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider; Engineer Nafisatu Asabe Ali, Executive Director, Independent System Operations; Ochije Ogini Chukwuka, Executive Director, Finance & Accounts; and Abiodun Foluso Afolabi, Executive Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services.
