President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm the nominees for the North Central Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and South South Development Commission. The request was made in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session.
The North Central Development Commission nominees include Cosmas Akiyir from Benue as Chairman, Tsenyil Cyril Yiltsen from Plateau as Managing Director, and Princess Atika Ajanah from Kogi as Executive Director in charge of Projects. Other nominees are Hajia Bilgis Jumoke Sanni from Kwara, Hajia Aishatu Rujui Ibrahaim from Nasarawa, Muhammad Bashar from Niger, Dauda Shuaibu Kigbu, Zakari Haliru Jikantoro, Alhaji Sulaiman Buka Ali, Rev. Bunmi Olusona, Dr. Umar Ibrahim Mantu, Engr. Atotse Abraham, Solomon Adodo, Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman, Engr. Habu Mamman, Engr. Dr. Atinuke Owolabi, Rachael Kufre Nse, and Chief Boniface Izziogu.
After reading the president’s letter, Senate President Godswill Akpabio referred the nominees to the relevant Senate committees for screening and confirmation. The committees are expected to report back to the plenary within one week.
