Abuja, Nigeria – [Date] – President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), effective December 1, 2023.
Chief Pius Akinyelure has been appointed as the Non-Executive Board Chairman, while Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari will continue to serve as Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The new board also includes the following Non-Executive Directors: Mr. Ledum Mitee, Mr. Musa Tumsa, Mr. Ghali Muhammad, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu, Mr. David Ogbodo, and Ms. Eunice Thomas.
In addition, President Tinubu has appointed two Permanent Secretaries to serve as members of the NNPCL board: Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, and Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

The NNPCL is a state-owned oil company that is responsible for exploring, producing, refining, and marketing petroleum products in Nigeria. The company has a significant impact on the Nigerian economy, and its new board and management team will play a critical role in ensuring its continued success.
