Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has threatened to mobilise a protest over the outcome of the All Progressives Congress primaries conducted in Lagos State.
Speaking on Wednesday during a gathering of market leaders and stakeholders in Alausa, Ikeja, Tinubu-Ojo alleged that the exercise was manipulated in favour of the Justice Forum faction within the party.
She specifically questioned the results announced for Mushin Federal Constituency II, Agege Constituency II and Ojokoro, insisting that the declared outcomes did not reflect the true winners of the primaries.
The Lagos APC had earlier released the names of candidates who secured tickets for the House of Representatives and the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections. The list, endorsed by the state chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, contained 24 House of Representatives candidates and 40 Assembly candidates.
Reacting to the development, Tinubu-Ojo appealed to the party leadership at both state and national levels to investigate the disputed results before they are officially ratified.
According to her, candidates such as Seye Oladejo in Mushin Constituency II, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo in Agege II and Olotu Ojo in Ojokoro legitimately won their contests and should not be denied their mandates.
She warned that any attempt to alter the results could trigger unrest within the party and weaken unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu-Ojo also criticised what she described as increasing division between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group blocs in the APC, arguing that internal politics was being driven by alignments linked to the governorship ambition of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.
She lamented that members were abandoning their political groups in search of advantage, adding that such actions were discouraging loyal party members and creating the impression that dedication no longer matters in politics.
The Iyaloja-General further maintained that market women across Lagos remain committed to supporting Hamzat and other APC candidates, while calling for greater political inclusion and recognition for traders who contribute significantly to the party’s electoral strength.
She stressed that traders constitute an important political bloc in Lagos and should not be sidelined in governance or appointments.
