Tragedy strucked at the early hours of Wednesday, August 16, 2023, when a commercial motorcyclist was hammered to death by a motorcycle snatchers who carted away his motorcycle.
The incident took happened at Phase 4, Nyanya, Abuja.
The victim, identified as John Gwom Gyang, a native of Plateau state, was said to have lost his wife and four kids in a road accident few years ago.
The victim was rushed to Paraf Hospital Nyanya, where Doctor confirmed him dead.
John was said to have remarried late year and the new wife nursing a new baby.
The victim’s colleague in commercial motorcycling business, who simply identified himself as Akpati, explain that the previous evening before tragedy strucked, they were discussing the harsh economic condition of the country, John, the victim did not make any contribution to what they were discussing.
“John was moody throughout our discussion the previous evening. All efforts to make him make contribution to what we were discussing proved abortive. We never knew death was calling him.”
A middle-aged man, who spoke to SummitPost on the condition of anonymity, said the victim is from a Mason.
“He used to plaster house for me. He’s a very good mercin. I have been pressurising him to concentrate on mercin work. After all, what is he getting from the Okada business. Finally, what I have been asking to forfeit has claimed his life,” he said.
As at Friday evening, friends of the victim were seeing along the popular Mammy road (Boundary Road) soliciting for assistance towards his burial.
All efforts by SummitPost to reach the Nasarawa State Police Command for comment proved abortive.
