U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have arrested a Nigerian, Raphael Oludemilade-Adebowale, convicted of larceny and money laundering.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of Mr Oludemilade-Adebowale, listed among its “Worst of the worst” illegal aliens, on Wednesday.
“Raphael Oludemilade-Adebowale, a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria, was convicted of larceny and money laundering in Bridgewater, Massachusetts,” the DHS said.
Mr Oludemilade-Adebowale now risks being deported as the President Donald Trump administration vigorously ramps up crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Court documents show that Mr Oludemilade-Adebowale was indicted for larceny of more than $1,200 from a person over 60 years old and money laundering.
Mr Oludemilade-Adebowale’s motion to dismiss the indictment was denied, and he was later convicted following a jury trial in a superior court.
Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin said, “Yesterday, ICE law enforcement arrested murderers, pedophiles, stalkers, and other dangerous illegal aliens.
“Despite sanctuary politicians’ attempts to harbour them, there will be no safe haven for illegal aliens under President Trump’s leadership. We will always put America first by arresting and removing illegal aliens who should have never been in our country at all. Deporting illegal aliens saves lives.”
