Ungodly And Acrimony Politics: Need For Ganduje To Reflect At Old Age
Suleiman Abdulmalik
There is an age long dictum which states that old age comes with wisdom. By that, it is believed that anyone who has been given the divine opportunity and privilege to live long must as a matter of necessity take time to reflect on his life’s odyssey.
What that pre-supposes is that such period in one’s life journey should be used as time to take stock by appraising what one has done rightly with joy and pride.
It is in the same token that, one should also reflect on those things which are not too pleasing to man and God, the Creator and the mighty upon whom all mortals will eventually return to and render respective individual account.
No doubt, God has been merciful to the immediate former Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and by extension, God also used his predecessor and boss, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for all the successes achieved in politics. It is to the glory of God, that he is currently the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after his eight years controversial tenure as governor of the thriving commercial capital state of the North.
Currently approaching 80 and with his anti God and anti people style of leadership, the last two opportunities that Ganduje has been presented with to serve the people, have all proven to be at a huge cost to the people of the state. As governor, he did all he could to subvert the will of the people in 2019 just for him to remain in power.
He lost the election but had to mobilize all instruments of state to stoled the victory to his favour at a huge cost to lives and properties of the people of Kano State, but his opponents who are much more matured and calm took the development in good faith and they rescinded to God.
Now, out of office but still in power, he’s still interested in Haram. The former governor is still in the business of using the instruments of state to once again cheat his opponents using his position as the National Chairman of the APC, which he’s ungodly and dubiously using to his advantage. To him, acquiring power matter most before God unlike his boss, Sen. Kwankwaso always pick God and humanity before power.
As usual, Ganduje doesn’t mind the cost that his politics of treachery, perfidy and ungodly would cost the state in terms of loss to human and property. This time, he is seen as the hand behind the series of manipulative antics all aimed at stealing Gov. Abba Yusuf mandates once again which his godson lost at the poll.
I think, Ganduje should not push his luck too far with this scheme which is likely to consume him. He should rather sit back and do what elders in his age should do by going close to God and become a statesman rather than cheerfully dwelling in Haram.
