The University of Calabar has released details for its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar of the university, Dr (Mrs) Chukwuka Icha, applications are open to candidates who selected the institution as their first choice in the 2026/2027 JAMB UTME and scored a minimum of 150.
The university also noted that candidates who did not initially choose UNICAL but are interested in gaining admission are eligible to apply, provided they meet the required cut-off mark.
The registration portal will open on Monday, June 1, 2026, and close on July 31, 2026.
The statement further disclosed that the screening process has been fully digitised, with the removal of e-transact and scratch card PINs in favour of an online payment and registration system.
Applicants are expected to log on to the university’s official Post-UTME portal to verify their JAMB details, complete the registration form, and make a non-refundable fee of ₦2,000 using approved payment channels, including ATM cards, bank transfers, and USSD options.
The institution stressed the importance of providing valid email addresses and active phone numbers during registration, warning that it would not accept responsibility for failed applications resulting from incorrect contact details.
It also reiterated that candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery must present O’Level results obtained in a single sitting, in line with the CCMAS policy.
The Registrar further cautioned that any false declaration regarding UTME scores, O’Level results, or state of origin would lead to automatic disqualification from the admission process.
