Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has stressed the importance of harmony between civil servants and political office holders to achieve effective governance and deliver quality results to the people.
Speaking at a two-day retreat for public servants and political office holders in Jalingo, Governor Kefas said, “We need to work together, we need to work in harmony, so that we will make governance easy and then give the people what they deserve.”
He emphasized that the retreat, themed “Taraba State, the Way Forward in a Globalising World,” aimed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and vision necessary to navigate challenges and opportunities in a rapidly changing world.
Governor Kefas warned against looting government funds, stating, “Even if you take the whole money in the government, you will still leave everything in the world. The most important thing is the legacy we are going to leave behind.”
He encouraged participants to engage fully in discussions and workshops, saying, “Let us approach this retreat with open minds and commitment to excellence, knowing that the progress we achieve here will have a lasting impact on the lives of our people.”
The Head of Civil Service, Mr. Paul Maigida Tino, appreciated Governor Kefas for prioritizing the training of civil servants and organizing the retreat to enhance their capacity and discipline.
Resource person Mr. Kanu Agabi (SAN) was commended for accepting the invitation to share his wealth of experience with participants.
