The US Department of State has acknowledged a partial systems outage that recently disrupted visa application processes for Nigerians.
Jennifer Johnson, Press Officer for the Bureau of Consular Affairs, confirmed that the glitch prevented some applicants from attending their scheduled visa interviews. However, she assured that normal operations have resumed and affected applicants will be notified for rescheduling.
The US Mission in Nigeria had previously transitioned to a new visa appointment system aimed at improving accessibility and transparency. However, Nigerians have faced periodic challenges during the transition.
The State Department reiterated its commitment to streamlining visa processing and ensuring a smoother experience for applicants moving forward.
