Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate closure of the secretariat of the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on the Sale of Federal Government Houses (SFGH) in Abuja.
‎
‎The minister’s special assistant on public communications and social media, Lere Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, explaining that a new division had been established within the Department of Land Administration to oversee matters concerning the sale of federal government houses in the FCT.
‎
‎Olayinka said the secretariat had remained operational to resolve issues connected to the committee’s activities after it completed its mandate. With its closure now formalised, members of the public have been directed to take all enquiries and matters concerning the sale of federal government houses to the Department of Land Administration.
‎
‎The FCT administration also warned residents to be cautious of fraudsters posing as officials, staff or members of the disbanded committee in an attempt to deceive members of the public.
