Yoruba Council Worldwide on Thursday extended its warm congratulations to Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu, over his victory at the just-concluded 2023 presidential poll.
This was contained in a statement, signed by the Global President of the Council, Oladotun Hassan, Esq.
“I and on behalf of Yoruba Council Worldwide, hereby sincerely and happily congratulate you on your well-deserved victory as the democratically elected President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Your victory, no doubt, is a testament to a renewed hope towards attaining unprecedented development for a new, better, peaceful, prosperous and a progressive Nigeria in the overall collective interests and benefits of her citizenry,” read part of the statement.
The council stated that Tinubu’s victory was a victory for all Nigerians, irrespective of political, religious affiliations or geopolitical affinities.
The group described Tinubu’s achievements as legendary in all indices, recalling his role in the birthing of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), his resilience as a two-term governor of Lagos State as well as his role in the establishment of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which produced President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
The council also hailed Tinubu for raising leaders in Nigeria and across Africa, highlighting his humanitarian and philanthropic attributes.
The council, therefore, expressed confidence that Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu, would administer excellent leadership for a peaceful, prosperous and progressive Nigeria as from May 29, 2023.
