Mr Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, has stated that the upcoming Youth Confab will prioritise equality in all discussions and initiatives, ensuring the inclusion of diverse perspectives.
Olawande made these remarks in Abuja while addressing a group of youth from the informal sector, led by their team leader, Mr Preye Tambou, who paid him a courtesy visit.
Emphasising the importance of commitment, the Minister underscored that true progress could only be achieved when all voices were heard and valued.
He highlighted that by prioritising equity in both discussions and actions, the conference aimed to create a more just and equitable future for the youth.
“As a youth, the selection of representatives for the Youth Confab will be based on equality.
“This demonstrates the government’s commitment to creating a nation where equal opportunities are available to every Nigerian, regardless of social status, gender, or creed.
“You are the country’s greatest asset, and this administration is dedicated to fostering a bright future where Nigeria stands proudly as a nation”, Olawande said.
The Minister also said that in the first week of March, President Bola Tinubu approved the automatic employment of 774 National Health Fellows.
“This initiative, led by both the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Health, is designed to foster sustained improvements in the Nigerian healthcare system.
“It aims to enhance the standard of living for the youth involved as part of broader youth empowerment efforts”.
In his address, Tambou explained that their visit was intended to formally introduce themselves to the minister and to appoint him as their patron.
He noted that the minister was selected for the role due to the various initiatives he had launched to improve the living standards of youth since taking office.
