Youths Urge Philanthropist, Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju, to Join Politics, Laud his Community Support Efforts

Abuja, July 16, 2025 (NAN) Youths from Egbeda-Alimosho community of Lagos State have praised Mr Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju’s commitment to human development, especially his consistent interventions in education support, empowerment initiatives.

The youths led said this on Thursday when they paid a courtesy visit to the Olanrewaju in Abuja.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Ajayi Badmus said Olanrewaju’s gesture had positively impacted lives across the community.

Badmus said the visit was to express appreciation for Olanrewaju’s continuous support and contributions to the welfare and development of their community.

Badmus described Olanrewaju as a beacon of hope and a silent achiever whose dedication to the upliftment of his people remains unmatched.

He said that many people in the community, particularly young people, had benefitted directly or indirectly from Olanrewaju’s generosity and visionary leadership.

He said his successful business background and philanthropic spirit place him in a strategic position to take up political leadership.

“We have come not just to say thank you, but to plead with you to consider taking a political role to represent us.

“You have demonstrated competence in business and compassion in giving back; it’s time to bring that experience into governance for the good of our people,” Badmus said.

In his response, Olanrewaju expressed deep appreciation for the visit and words of encouragement from the youth delegation.

“I am truly humbled by your visit and your message. Like you, some respected leaders have approached me on this same subject.

“I must say consultations are ongoing, and I have not made any final decision at this point,” Olanrewaju said.

He added that at the right time, the people would hear from him concerning his participation in politics.

“My passion for the progress of our people remains unwavering. I will continue to play my part in supporting development and, in particular, empowering young people in our community,” he said.

Olanrewaju is widely respected for his quiet but impactful philanthropy and his commitment to the growth and empowerment of the Egbeda-Alimosho community.

Many see him as a new face of hope and leadership as the nation looks towards youth-inclusive and people-centered governance.
